Victim was shot in an alley a few blocks from the school after reporting to school police before leaving summer school that there was a someone on the streets flagging kids down with guns. The victim was with friends when an SUV stopped and one person, whom witnesses identified as male, got out. Standing about 200 feet away, he fired several rounds down the alley, Sands said. Interiano was hit in the head. The suspect appeared to be a gang member, but the girl was an innocent victim and was not a gang member, LAPD Officer Mike Lopez of the Media Relations office said. "Ana Banana" to friends, she had just started summer school, her family said.
