Assault weapon usedFour teenagers were shot on a primary school lawn, near their high school. 16-year-old 11th-grade student, Christopher Walker, was pronounced dead at Providence Hospital in Southfield, Detroit Police said. A witness heard at least 12 or 13 gunshots and then he saw one male student was shot in the eye. Handguns and an AK-47 assault rifle were used. The other two victims were listed in temporary serious condition. Murder charges were filed against Devon Bell, 18, William Morton, 15, and Derryck Brantley, 18. Brantley is the son of a Detroit homicide detective. The shooting was an act of retaliation. One month after that another Henry Ford High School student, sophomore Dewayne Smith, 15, was killed on his front porch in an unrelated shooting. Learn More (detnews.com)
