- Richard Facciolo (Male), Administrator
Shooter
John Sirola (13, Male), Student, Fatality (Suicide)
Occurred on Jan 23, 1995
in office of Principal Richard Facciolo, whom he shot in face and shoulder; had had problems with dress code and authority; shot self after he shot principal with sawed-off 12-guage shotgun Learn More (dadi.org)

You should get the facts straight before putting this information on the Internet. John did not have a problem with the dress code. He died on the church grounds in his school uniform. He did not kill himself, in fact the janitor said he was shot and stayed with him awaiting medical assistance,no one ever showed, John bled to death. There is no record of him having a problem with authority. I suggest you remove this or at least investigate it and tell the real truth. The boy did not even have gun powder residue on his hands. Now that something to think about.
- Carol (04/01/2010)
Carol, you should get your facts straight. I am happy that I came across this, as I was just telling friends about my experience on this day. I saw John shoot himself, and I was the one that went to get Ray (the janitor) and his coworker. I was the first one at the scene, the only one that saw exactly what happened, and John was dead face down immediately after the incident. As for medical assistance, ambulances were there immediately after the accident happened. John did have an issue with authority, specifically Mr. Fash, and he was known for being a troubled child. Furthermore, he had just spent the previous year with his father in another state, because of his issues and problems in life. How can you possibly say he did not have a problem with authority, when he comes back at after 3:30 (school ended at 230) just to kill the principal in his own office, after a discussion about his behavior earlier that day? As for gun powder residue, unless you were the officer that investigated that, your opinion on that matter is irrelevant. I was standing 10 ft. from John on that rainy day when he decided to take his own life, and there is no doubt in my mind as to what happened.
- Steven (12/01/2010)
Steven, I am trying to figure out who you are. Were you a student or a member of the faculty at Sacred Heart? The reason I am asking you is that you seem very certain as to the reason why John went to live with his father, furthermore you called the pricipal, Mr Fash, I know that the students of Sacred Heart used that abbreviation. Steven, you had mentioned that there was immediate medical attention for John, the only call for medical assistance was made for Mr. Fash and 911 records support what I am telling you. I find it puzzling that you claim to be a witness of John's death because I have been told(by police) for the longest time that there were no witnesses to John's death, so if I seem skeptical that is why.
- Carol(1/27/2011) (01/27/2011)
I was a student at Sacred Heart at the time of the shooting. After the incident, the faculty at Sacred Heart were very unfair to Carol. I do understand what happened was unfortunate, but given the fact this is a church, they should not have treated the mother that way; that goes against everything I was taught at this school and church. Carol was completey devastated, she just lost her only child at the time. Obviously John had some issues, but the mother should not be the one to blame and harassed. The priest would say bad things about her in church and that is where my mother stepped in and confronted the situation (she is a psychotherapist). As soon as they heard my mom defending Carol, I was immediately "asked to leave" the school in the middle of the year, of which I had attended 6 years, and all of my siblings had attened previously. I am disturbed by Steven giving his opinion stated as facts. I think the mother would know more about her son and the incident, rather than a stranger would.
